Former Guelph player, the Mexican-Canadian now in Arsenal.
Marcelo Flores is the newest player of Arsenal youth system.
The contract has been finalized on March 11th, 2019. The young player now join also his sisters Silvana and Tatiana, which they also play within the youth system of the British Club. The three players developed in Guelph in the golden years of the local Club 2011 to 2015.
Marcelo is only 15 years old and came from Ipswich Town, club that brought him to Europe to join their youth system around 2016, when he was scouted in a soccer camp in Cayman Islands.
The three siblings are children of Ruben Flores (Former professional player from Atlante and Cruz Azul from Mexican 1st Division League), they were born in Canada, and now have the option to play for three different national teams: Mexico, Canada and England.
Something they have very clear is their preference to play for Mexico. Where the oldest sister, Silvana, played the FIFA Women’s world cup U-17 just few months ago, where they achieve 2nd place, in the meantime Marcelo will join the Mexican National Team U-17 the week of March 18th to the 25th 2019, in his first call up to “El Tri”
